Meet Kate

My world has slowly evolved into one where I’m constantly (obsessively?) exploring what makes a house a home. I consume home-optimization related content from all angles on a daily basis (including having a realtor for a husband), and am one of those people who gets up mid-movie to adjust the decor on my bookshelf. Landing on that “just right” feeling is a chase I live for.

Growing up in Vancouver, my parents noted my “intense” interest in rearranging and reorganizing of the house they were trying to live in, so my Mom actually started lending me out to her friends to declutter their pantries or closets. My first clients paid me in treats, movies tickets, and makeup - but I was simply content with the satisfaction of making things look better and creating order.

I created Centered Space after working in the interior design industry and noticing a big gap in the "less sparkly" reasons why houses don’t look or flow quite right. I've always known that editing and decluttering improves not only the aesthetic and functionality of a space, but when we have less stuff to: distract us, argue over, keep track of…life just feels easier and more enjoyable

Our space and belongings should enrich our lives, not cause pain and stress. And therein lies the reason Centered Space was born, just to help people enjoy the time they spend in their homes better✌️
